CLI VIA Template

Examples of how to use templates to distribute CLI only features

🚀

Best practice: commands applied to appliances via CLI via templates for features like LLDP, CDP, and tunnel timers.

📘

discoveryd enable (turns on LLDP/CDP process, must also enable per interface to function)

Add the following text: (Note: LLDP is ECOS 9.3+)

Security best practice- Typically would not enable on WAN interfaces unless the WAN is internal to your network and you need this function.

Only enable the protocol and interfaces you need. Typically LAN0 and LAN1 for LLDP.

discoveryd enable
interface lan0 lldp enable
interface lan0 cdp enable
Remove this line from default if present.
ssh server listen interface lo

Use “show lldp/cdp neighbors” to view from Orch/Broadcast CLI session.
