Regional Routing (RR)
Best Practice: ON (default)
Considerations:
- Environment size and organizational requirements
-
9.3.x.x and older
30,000 route table limit
9.4.x.x newer
60,000 route table limit
RR affect routing advertisements from hub devices.
RR - OFF
- Hub does not send other Spoke routes to spokes via SDWAN
- Without a default route from the Hub, spokes cannot Hairpin through the HUB, need a route to attract the traffic to the hub, the hub routing table routes to the spoke.
- Default route can be learned VIA BGP/OSFP or advertise only route.
- RFC-1918 is also an option if default route is not an option
- supnets/subnets of branches
- Routes learned belong to the Zone they are learned in. More information in (Future link)
