Search applications by wildcard pattern

Searches for application names matching the specified wildcard pattern. Returns a sorted set of matching application names. Behavior varies based on AVC mode: when AVC mode is enabled, filters applications from the definition manager; when AVC mode is 'none', returns all applications from the application manager.
